Every crew member on board a Dutch flagged vessel, needs to have a valid Certificate of Competency (¨vaarbevoegdheidsbewijs¨) or endorsement, which complies with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW Convention).
